My interactions with Will have centered mostly around my learning to sing. I’ve known him since early 2020 when I began my personal singing adventure through a musical theatre workshop he was facilitating. I’ve studied with him for most of the Terms throughout the last four years, more recently in his group singing courses. Next year I intend to take further advantage of his expertise through undertaking private lessons.
If I had to sum up Will’s approach in one word, I’d use the term ‘genuine’. He genuinely cares about his students and explores strategies to progress them through their singing journey in ways that are intuitive and easy to grasp.
Whilst attending his group courses I’ve participated in many individual tutoring mini sessions as well as benefiting from the group-oriented work. During that time, I have noted that Will’s approach is warm and supportive as well as being astute and insightful.
When presenting students with a challenge Will ensures that it is achievable. He also takes the time to apply careful thought outside of the classroom towards how best to help his students accomplish their singing goals. His breadth of knowledge has allowed him to present me with songs that I would never have considered, but which have assisted me to strengthen and develop my ability and expand my repertoire. I am only just learning to read music and beginning to understand how to apply my voice to written music annotation; Will has patiently assisted me to successfully learn songs through using sheet music.
The proof is in the singing. I perform regularly with a small group of volunteers, we put on song and dance shows at aged care facilities. My fellow volunteers have commented on my substantial singing development over the last several years. I believe that my improvement is entirely due to the techniques and skills that Will has taught me.
Will also doesn’t neglect his own skillset. He’s constantly exploring new and exciting avenues of musical expression as well as keeping himself involved with other like-minded talented individuals. I’ve seen him perform on the stage and have watched shows for which he’s written music. He’s totally professional in every respect.
I have no hesitation in recommending Will as an ideal tutor for beginners and for advanced students.

Will is an outstanding singing teacher and I highly recommend his classes. I took 10 lessons with him, with very noticable results. He is a patient teacher, but is also genuinely committed to his students' improvement. I have had both group and private classes for singing with Will. He is one of the kindest and most patient people I've ever met. His positive attitude and in depth knowledge make him a a great teacher. He has a brilliant ear and techniques that create improvement you can see instantly.
