About the lesson

My Approach to Guitar Tutoring Techniques & Teaching Methodology I focus on creating a supportive, engaging atmosphere tailored to each student’s goals. My teaching blends fundamentals—like chords, scales, and technique—with the music you love, keeping lessons enjoyable and motivating. I use a mix of demonstration, playing along, ear training, and practical exercises, always adjusting to your level and learning style. Whether you want to read music, play by ear, or explore songwriting, I adapt the curriculum to suit your interests. Typical Lesson Length Most lessons are 30 to 60 minutes long, depending on the student’s age, skill level, and schedule. I recommend beginners start with 30-minute sessions, while more advanced students often benefit from a full hour. Qualifications & Experience With over 20 years of experience teaching guitar and performing in various settings—from solo gigs to band concerts—I bring deep practical knowledge and a passion for sharing music. I’ve helped students of all ages and skill levels achieve their musical goals. Who the Lessons Are For My lessons are open to anyone aged 7 and up, from complete beginners to advanced players. I work with kids, teens, and adults, tailoring each class to fit the age, goals, and learning pace of the student.

Fantastic Guitar Teacher!
My 11-year-old son has been learning guitar with Fran for several months now, and I couldn’t be more impressed. He’s not only learned so much in a short space of time, but he’s also genuinely excited for each lesson, which says everything! Fran has a brilliant way of connecting with younger students, balancing fun with real progress. He explains things clearly, is incredibly patient, and tailors the lessons to suit my son’s interests and pace. We’ve seen a big boost in my son’s confidence and it’s been fantastic to see the progress he has made. Highly recommended!
