About Jonathan
Jonathan Giraldo is a musician, guitarist, tip player and composer of Colombia. In 2016 he starts his career as a guitarist at the University of Antioquia, where he is currently in the eighth semester of undergraduate music.
He began his first steps in the field of composition with EÓN, a band of which he was a co-founder and in which he made his debut as guitarist, composer and second voice since its foundation in 2016. His concern for exploring different compositional approaches has led him to be influenced by different musical trends, among which the classical style, rock and metal, traditional Colombian Andean music (the pasillo, the bambuco, the guabina, etc.), post-tonal music, some aspects of minimalism and rhetorical aspects of Baroque music based on the theory of affects.
His music has a narrative proposal based on metaphor, both, his songs and some of his instrumental compositions (in his playbills), contain a humanistic tint that describes different features of human reality, his eternal searches and sufferings.

My classes apply an experiential methodology. I am supremely convinced that each person brings musical knowledge from everyday life. For people of a basic level, I offer a course in which we can approach Music from different aspects, including the pulse of the heart rate and its relationship with the concept of pulse in music; In the same way, the instrument will be worked from technical systems designed for muscular conditioning that will later allow the interpretation of melodies, chords, etc. For intermediate level students, the class will have a theoretical-practical methodology, this will allow the student to develop a musical criterion and his interpretations acquire another vision and later, execute in the study of improvisation. For students with an advanced level in mastering the instrument, they will work according to the style in which they feel they have the greatest affinity and in alternate styles; improvisation, theory and writing will be fundamental parts at this level.
