About Laith
Im an Acute and General Internal Medicine Registrar in NHS West Midlands with over 8years of post graduate medical experience in the NHS. I have been teaching formally and informally for 7 years with experience described above.
My clinical experience coupled with extensive qualifications mean knowledge and clinical skills are of a high standard
My teaching style is dynamic, fluid, interactive and adaptable to the situation. My sessions are light-hearted and I enjoy teaching and communicate at the level of the audience - in an understanding and professionally jovial manner. I want students to enjoy their learning as then they are more likely to take things on board, and also not too over burden any individual or specific session - I am experienced in curriculum mapping and pitching sessions that are relevant, focussed and match patient needs.

Teaching methodology is varied - using collaborative interactive learning, technology enhanced learning, case based discussions and opportunities for bedside teaching. Can help with exam specific sessions also with opportunities to present cases.
Lessons can range from 30minutes up to 3hours depending on need and time constraints.
My relevant qualifications are MBChB, MRCP(UK) Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Education, had a 4 month academic teaching post, supervised 2 students during an assistantship, completed two 3 month bedside teaching programmes for medical students, conducted several presentations for students and junior doctors, have much experience in research including national and international presentations so Im a confident public speaker
Lessons can be for medical students of any year, junior doctors, physician associates, allied health professionals including medical support workers, advanced clinical practitioners, nurse practitioners, other clinical support staff
My style is interactive and engaging, highly interpersonal as that the student will be very involved in their own learning which has a strong evidence base for positive outcomes.
